The Last race of 2009.

The last race of the year was the toughest so far. It was in Zell am See Austria. The weather was good for racing but the piste was just sheet ice and bumpy. My start number was 115, alot better than the ones i had in Bormio. I felt good in the start, but came out of the course 10 gates before the finish.

I am now in England for christmas and new year seeing family and friends and will return to Austria on the 5th of January, to resume training and racing. My first race of the new year will be 2 giant slaloms in Garmisch Germany.

I would like to thank everybody whos has been following my blog over the past few months, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, cheers Ben.

Bormio, Italy race update.

The last few days in Bormio did not go so well. In the giant slalom I crashed out, with a start number of 263 it was not the best slope conditions by the time I went down. Slalom was pretty much the same story. I skied out tried to walk back up to the gate, but the officials said I did not walk back up enough so I was disqualified. I will make 2 days training back in Zillertal and then leave for 2 giant slalom races in Zell am See, Austria on Wednesday and Thursday.

Cheers Ben

3rd fastest in training!

Yesterday was another day of giant slalom timed runs. I came 3rd out of 22 racers, which I am so happy with because all the other athletes were a good standard (1st place had 35 points in GS). My giant slalom skiing is really coming on now, I think this will be my strongest discipline for the season. I am aiming to get under 100 points. Tomorrow is a free day, next week I will ski 4/5 days and continue to work on my fitness in the afternoons, Cheers Ben.
