I ended up not racing last Sunday due to bad conditions on the race hill, Monday was back to normal training though.
Over the last week we were training Giant slalom in Hochfilzen, Tirol, Austira. I had 4days of solid, consistant training seeing more improvment in my skiing. The training slope was flat at the top, then a steep section with some nice rollers to finish, Photo left.
On Friday we travelled 4 hours for 2 Giant Slalom races in Turnau, Steiermark, Austria. I woke up on Saturday morning feeling great and ready to go, but we arrived at the race hill only to find out that they had cancelled the race due to overly warm, wet conditions. Even though they had worked through the night to try and get the slope ready there was no way we could race on it! Later that day they announced that Sundays race was also cancelled. So in the the end it was an 8 hour round trip for no racing, I was beyond frustrated, but thats the weather and Skiracing for you!
Tomorrow is back to training and this week I am hoping to race in a Giant Slalom here in Kirchberg and a Slalom race in Westerndorf which is only 20 minutes away, both races are Senior FIS on tricky slopes. Will keep you updated, cheers Ben.
